Emay Mohnay Moo 09/16/2008

That means, I am alone.  But hey, it's not such a bad thing I've discovered.  First of all, I love saying Emay Mohnay Moo.  Say it.  And secondly, because I've also rediscovered Yahoo Radio.  It's FREE and it's got the hits from all the decades!

The hubby is out working, the little one is off in school, and as for me...I'm currently going through the 80's.  Big surprise.  My 20th high school reunion is rounding the corner.

Yes, I'm also working, but I find this multitasking to be much more fun when EMAY MOHNAY MOO!!!  and I have a page open on http://music.yahoo.com/launchcast/stations/default.asp and the speakers turned up!!!!

weekend art 09/14/2008

Saturday we cut out clay shapes and today, Sunday, we painted them.  We used the seahorse cookie cutter Gramma brought us and the glitter she had mailed us.  Thanks Gramma!

My new love 09/14/2008

The picture is not a mistake.  My new love is just that...my new washing machine.  I LOVE it.  Our clothes are soft and clean and smell good and like new again!  Yahoooooo!

Sorry Mom, I just wish we had had it when you were here...next time!

We came home to find the people below us making red wine with their grapes.  The little one had a blast smushing them with his feet!  When the Greeks say "to your health and cheers" it sounds like Skinny Asses!

Getting his feet washed...

They are stepping on a sac of grapes and the juice is flowing into a bucket.  There were wasps all around their ankles and nobody got bit.

Tasia is adding the grape juice that has drained from the bag into the buckets, to the big barrel to sit and ferment for a good 1.5 to 3 months.

He wanted to wear his cowboy shirt and was very proud of his Superman back pack.  Thanks Gramma!!!

There are only 10 kids in his class, including him.  This is a shot of how they have to line up in the morning before the bell rings at 8am.  The kindergarden is to the right, 28 kids, and the 2nd grade is to the left...I don't know how many.  Below is his classroom.  Pretty big for 10 kids.  I hope he likes it!!!

When the sun goes down we all become something we never are during the day...Athletes!  It cools down and the courts fill up.  Fun times!  This guy keeps his score cummulative throughout the  nights.  He's up to 8 baskets and 16 points.  Hasn't made the 3 pointer yet, though hard he does try!

We try to always make time to stop and smell the roses... Panemenitay!!!  (wait)   I mean, to stop and smell the night blooming jasmine!  Ah......

The big crowds are gone...wait , there never were any.  Ha, but seriously, all the tourists are about gone.  The locals are still hanging out in the street.  Cars actually pass by here.  People don't seem to mind.  It's actually entertaining for them.  If you want to feel famous just take a drive through this street because they'll all have their eyes glued on you.  I don't mind it.  It's a small town.  We were on our way to shoot some hoops.  The little one made 3 baskets that night, all on his own and twice with one hand trying his layups.  Amazing.

Best Ever BBQ 09/13/2008

We don't know the name yet.  But we've been here countless times already.  It's off the beaten track in Finikounda.  I found it one night ...just followed my nose.  Here he's barbequing fish.  But the chicken is my fave.  He uses a brush to brush on the garlic and herb butter, but guess what his brush is?!  A tied up bunch of fresh herbs.  Yum.  It's a dirty hot job and we sure appreciate it.  We don't have a BBQ at our rental.  And they're really friendly, too.  Below is a shot of the table where we ate a couple nights ago.  The cats came to visit and got a handsome reward for their company.  (fish and chicken scraps)  The ceiling is a grape vine, full full full of grapes!  Really neat place...worth a post!

This could be the next cover of Coastal Living magazine.  Who took this shot?  I love it!
