First of all, sorry folks for skipping two weeks there...had really bad computer problems. OUCH!
Ok, but I'm back and better than ever now! So this week's question is what is the name of the newspaper that has a new English Page and is distributed throughout all of the Peloponnese? Hint, next week it will have an interview about an American Photographer and her family living in Methoni. Well ha, that's not really a hint, but it's a hint about why I'm writing about it....! They interviewed us yesterday...quite the fun we had chatting and sipping Kofe.
OK, I"ll just tell you, the name is STIN BRIZA. They are also on the net at www.stinbriza.gr Check em out!
Guess why the cup has a top to it? This was a gift from our friends who just came back from visiting a beautiful Greek Island (are any of them not beautiful? NO) Zakinthos.
I love these cups!!!
Ok give up? No , it's not to keep the tea or coffee warm. It's to keep out the flies!!! Yeah. Very much needed. Awesome gift! Thanks Popi and Jimmy!!!
This is a good one. I bet you won't know the answer, but when I tell you, you'll be surprised...
How many Greek islands are there? Think about it...then keep reading for the answer...3, 20, 50, what do you think?
There are about 2,000 major islands within the greek nation. Mainland Greece also has land borders with Albania, Bulgaria , Turkey and the former yugoslav Republic of Macedonia . Since ancient times the greeks are a traditionally seafaring nation with 13,676 km of coastline!
Where is the deepest part of the Med? Does it have a name?
Those who have read all my linked articles better get this one.
Need a refresher, click here!
Can you guess which country this flag represents?
Hint: I see it everwhere!
First of all, last question's answer is frozen octopus. It's everywhere and really surprised my mother.
Now for this question #5 Yep, Guess where? Think real hard, the Olympics? Olympics! You're on a roll.
Ok, I won't keep you waiting forever. It's Olympia in the Peloponnese in Greece. We took Mom there her 2nd Saturday here. (she stayed 3 weeks and thus the recent lack of posts. sorry) '
Well hey, hope you're all having fun and let me know if you had guessed the right answer. Be honest now, i've installed a little shock therapy software to your computer via this site so if you type a lie you get a little jolt. (just kidding...)
What is round, ice cold, and rock hard, that you can find all over GREECE? This is a question that my Mother came up with in an instant when I asked her for a good Greek question. Can you guess it?
Have you ever heard of ZORBA the Greek?
Mikis Theodorakis is the Bozouki player that does it the best. We just fell in love with Greek music when we came down here last Aug. to try out the trimarans for representation on the Riviera. Found this really cute CD shop in Lefkada Town and the lady there introduced us to classic Greek- and Zorba it is!!! Oompa!
Hide your plates first, you'll want to start celebrating when you hear this stuff!!!
What do you think of when you hear the word GREECE?
What was your first memory?
